DRESSING FOR THE MID-SEASON WEATHER

It’s coming into full-blown Autumn now and we’re struggling to dress for the mid-season weather Melbourne is having. One minute the sun is out and it’s hot, and the next the wind blows us to Antartica. For us, it’s about wearing key pieces to get you through ‘one of those weather days’.

One of the best ways we’ve found to do this is to play with layerings as well as different weight clothing pieces (think heavier trousers, but lightweight tops and jackets to throw over) so that you’ve covered all bases when it comes to potential weather variants.

On of our favourite trends at the moment is the New Utilitarian vibe of oversized open shirts/jackets with button and buckle details, plusĀ lots of tans and neutral tones (which we obviously L.O.V.E).

You can shop some of our favourite pieces from the New Utilitarian below:

Pair the above with some new season Knitwear (our favourite style is a classic crew neck) and Jackets/Coats to keep you toasty, or if the sun comes out to play and it gets too hot you can peal off your layers.

One of our biggest struggles in mid-season dressing is what shoes do you wear? Is it time for a boot and fluffy socks or still warm enough for sandals? Sometimes, the best option are a bit of both – a sneaker that has a fold-down heel, or a light comfy boot.

And one of theĀ must-haves for the in-between season is a bag to carry your bit-and-pieces in (think sunglasses and little umbrella) and a scarf to keep you snuggly when that wind blows. We’re still loving the Transparent Bag and Woven bag trend *insert drool eyes*.

Happy shopping!
