If you’ve been looking around for more than five minutes, you’d be noticing that more and more red is popping into your favourite store to trickling into your fav bloggers wardrobe. There is no denying it, red is the colour of the season – you could say it’s red hot 😉 [/one] [one_second][/one_second][one_second][/one_second][two_third][/two_third][one_third]
If you’re like us, and the exploration of colour is limited to your blacks, whites, neutrals, and blues then you’re probably nervous to take the plunge into such a bold and daring colour. But we’re here to tell you to just GO FOR IT! If you’re too scared to commit to a whole red outfit – like a red dress, our tip is to start small to get yourself comfortable with the idea of looking like a firetruck (in the best way possible of course!)
Start with smaller items such as a red top, red accessories or skirt to break up your usual monochromatic outfit or infuse a pop of red into your patterned dress or jacket. Personally, I think red is a colour that most skin types can pull off. If you’re fair like Scarlett Johansson, olive skin like us Greeks, or have a deeper complexion like Beyonce or Michelle Obama there is 100% a shade of red for you!
Having an olive complexion, Bec and I really suit those bold, cherry reds that usually have orange undertones to them. Whereas if you’re fair, you may suite red pieces which have a blue or violet undertone to them. Very similar to how you’d choose your ‘perfect red lipstick’ you should choose your shade of red to wear!
