#MBFWA WRAP UP

We survived another year! Woohoo!! Every year gets more and more busy, but more and more rewarding. This year was of-course no different, although there was a different vibe in the MBFWA air. We spoke to a lot of other influencers, and they agreed – this year just felt different. We can’t put our finger on what it was, but maybe it’s because we’ve experienced NYFW last year that it just felt more low-key at Carriageworks. Either way, we crammed as much in as we could in the four days we were in Sydney and had a blast.

Day 1: Checked into our flash new pad at the Hyatt Regency. We were welcomed into a Harbour View suite with a *massive* king bed and tonnes of natural light (win for all bloggers who take content in their hotel rooms – trust us).

Next we picked up our whip for the week, thanks to our favourite team at Mercedes Benz. The GLA250 is seriously the best car in existence, and something we need in our lives 24/7 – although my dad doesn’t agree that it’s a wise purchase for our 25 year-old selves. We’ll just say we have agreed to disagree on this one! But it’s seriously so cute and stylish and drives like a dream!

We made our way to the Opening Show of MBFWA – Dion Lee at the Sydney Opera House, and man was it an opening! The granduer of the venue, combined with stunning silhouettes and bold colour choices from Dion made for a wonderful opening to the MBFWA week.

Day 2: Up bright and early for Day 2 of MBFWA starting with feminine, 70’s inspired designs from none other than Alice McCall. We had a big break in-between shows so we planned a tonne of meetings and showings for the remainder of the day before our next show – Sass & Bide.

Now, I’m not sure if we have mentioned here, but we both used to work on the retail floor of Sass & Bide for just under three years. So as you can imagine, we were pretty excited for this show!

Day 3: This was a quite day for us, with our first show (Bec & Bridge) starting at 5pm! We did some shooting in the AM, and then casually made our way to David Jones for the show. Straight after we zipped to Carriageworks for the Christopher Esber show.

Day 4: Last day of MBFWA for us (yipee!!) and this was our boldest outfits of the whole week. We planned these outfits last week and we’re so excited to finally wear them! We started the day off at the Sydney Art Gallery for the Ginger and Smart show and then finished it off at C/MEO Collective back at Carriageworks. MBFWA Officially DONE!
